It’s not within the standard protocol of talk therapy to tap on clients’ acupuncture points as they focus on a problem or goal. Even therapists convinced of the purported benefits of Energy Psychology may not know how best to present it to their clients without seeming too “out there.”
David Feinstein, whose books have won eight national awards, was also skeptical when his wife introduced him to Energy Psychology. A conventionally trained psychologist, he became a convert when he witnessed Energy Psychology work for a claustrophobic client who was able to calmly stand in a closet after only one session of acupuncture tapping.
In this brief video clip, he demonstrates that introducing Energy Psychology to clients doesn’t require a lot of esoteric language or technical explanations. He shows how the ease, quickness, and preciseness of applying these techniques make them a useful addition to any therapist’s toolbox, especially in couples work.
